So each month, I spend time out at Oakview Apartments, an innercity community, where we host a Bible Club on Thursday evenings. A couple weeks ago, I was there with our Encounter Sunday School Class and God just really opened my heart and my eyes to Andrew. I've known him now for 2 years and each time I'm around him, he just warms my heart. To be honest, I want to be like Andrew! He is so kind and compassionate, always taking care of the needs of others first. He's 15 and I've never been around him, when he was'nt taking care of his little nephew and neice. He also reminds the other kids at club, who are often times behaving badly, how they should be nice. And those kids listen to HIM! This night in particular, he stood out because it was cold and they walk to club from the apartments across the street. I was'nt expecting him to come, but sure enough, Andrew showed up about 6:15, with his little friends in tow.... They were all bundled up and you could tell that Andrew had gotten them there, all because he wants them to know about Jesus. I wish I could be like Andrew, kind and compassionate, always loving, always patient, and always thinking of others. I have a lot to learn from Andrew, I think all of us do!
