Does that normally happen here???

I'm so glad I love to laugh! Yesterday was one of those days when everything just kept cracking me up! Each day I'm learning little bits of info about my new culture and yesterday I learned that women can just burp! I love it! I was out in TZ, the village where we are doing health classes for the women, and we were invited to one of the ladies homes. I had just sat down for tea, when out of no where, the lady beside me let out the LOUDEST burp! I knew that I couldn't bust out laughing so it was one of those moments when I had to bite the inside of my lip to stop myself... well, that only worked for a few seconds before I was just giggling like a five year old! I composed myself and we carried on chatting (which most I didn't understand....) and then again, the lady across from me BELCHED! I know it's normal here, but it's just not normal where I come from! In fact, all I kept thinking in my head was, "mom and dad would definitely be giving me the evil eye if that were me burping like that at the table!"
So I thought that was going to be my funny story for the day until I came home and had quite the shower experience...
It's getting pretty cold here now, our highs have only been in the 50s with rain pretty much all day. (you're probably thinking that's not too cold but my home here doesn't have heat and our walls are way different!) So, it's COLD!  After a great night in the village, I came home so excited to get in the hot shower! I was enjoying myself when out of no where I heard this LOUD noise... I soon realized that my GLASS shower door was falling off! It hit the toilet then the sink and then fell to the floor where it busted. That part was not so funny; however, after I stood there in disbelief, I thought to myself, "does that normally happen here and how am I going to get out of the shower now?" After a few seconds, I figured out that I could step over on to the toilet, grab my towel, dry off, and then step over onto the sink and lift the shower door out of the way, to get the bathroom door open, then kinda jump out of the bathroom (it was quite complicated). I managed to do that without cutting myself, but I still could not stop laughing!!! I know it was not funny, but I didn't have any other response... I called one of the girls on my team and told her what happened and she assured me that that was not normal and that had never happened to her before.
It took me quite a while to stop laughing last night about this day, in fact, I'm kinda still chuckling about it now, except for the fact that I am now having to clean up all the glass and figure out where you get a shower door from here or how to even say that in Arabic????
So....my thoughts on yesterday: I am definitely in the right culture with the last name that I have...
shower doors sometimes fall off and shatter, I better have an escape plan...
and when all else fails, just laugh!
